The Monologue

(It's nearly two in the morning and the darkness is intense. It seems obvious that everyone is deep in their sleep, but not her. Let's call her 'K'. For the past two hours she is trying to conquer the terrible insomnia, but alas! she's failing! She is pressing her eyes tight frowning. Beside the bed there is a table, which shelters her book, phone and an alarm clock. She has set the clock, because she plans to go for jogging early in the morning. There is a big floor length window on her right, which holds white curtains. Besides the window is a mannequin, that not-so-proudly wears her latest design! It's a full sleeved LBD with, which should have been fringed bottom, but looks like the thread of the dress coming out! On the floor there is a line of shoes, of different shapes and sizes. They look okay but old! Suddenly the alarm beeps! It's too loud! She groans and wakes up lazily and takes the clock in her hand and makes an angry noise, because it's just two! She starts to think angrily!)
Dammit! Dammit! (sighs)Now, I am never going to that jogging am I?! (she throws the clock and falls back on bed, wide awake now) I am so angry!!! arghh....Sleep where are you?! I did work my apetite for you! I did so many chores, walked everywhere and yet....(sighs and looks at her dress on the dummy, another sigh) That dress is so ruined! Why do I even try!? The deadline is in three weeks and out of four dresses, I have only managed to make two, one is so simple, that I am so sure she ain't gonna have a second look, and this one....I will give it a last try!
(She wakes up, puts on the light, pulls her hair back and walks to the mannequin and starts adjusting, when suddenly there is a soft tap on the window/door. She is not scared but is intrigued. She opens the window and peeps, no-one, but a pair of Alexandro Ingalmo's 'magic' shoes)
Wow!(she opens the door quickly and grabs them and not so far away, is a pair of Philip Lim lying away!) OMG! this is worth being an insomniac! wow wow wow! Oh god ! please let this be magic and not some illusion.....
(The alarm beeps piercingly loud) What the hell! ( She looks at the clock, it's six in the morning and just the time for jogging. She takes a long sigh and looks around, yes it was an illusion afterall!)

P.S The character, set and events are all purely fictional, any resemblance to person living or dreaming is just a co-incident. I want these shoes so bad

I am a one bag woman! (absolutely kidding)

Okay, I seem to always start my 'article/blog' with a rather unfashionable anecdote and unfriendly greetings, but what can I do when my childhood, which I find colourful than the rainbow FYI, is filled with such events and I'd rather treat you as my bff (talking about the greeting of course). If you sensed yet another 'childhood' memo yes you are right. It's bags. I used to think, 'why bother when you have pockets', you see I was a bit tomboyish and hadn't much to carry! Seeing mom and aunts with a bag hanging around their arm, was all bit too much. I don't know how, when, where but I have successfully passed that era! I am not crazily in-love with them, but love them! Especially this tote ( I guess it's from zara, it was a gift!:) and the long chained monochrome 'Next' bag, that reminds the traditional chanel bags!

Home is where your stuffs are....and your heart too:-)

So, I am home. Though coupleof weeks ago I was enthusiastically cursing the icy Britain weather, I kind of miss it now! Throughout my stay wind, frost, and the rare Sun was my cimpanion, but I liked wearing leggings and hats. I miss the fresh blueberry muffin and not to mention my evergreen favourite drink orange lucozade! Here is where I need it most unfourtunately!:(
Anyways, it's good to be back to the place where your body fat cries even with a simple five minute walk!

Sleepless in Singapore isn't a big deal, infact I am a very popular insomniac pupil! So, as I was helpessly trying to sleep I thought about my neglected blog and decided to add a fresh and initial page for june (my birthday month:) Today the little things around my house are my models:) and they are nicely edited by instagra. My current house don't resemble my dream house. It lacks walk-in-closet, study room and secret chamber(I am sometimes unrealistically dreamy aren't I?) but hey it's still where my stuffs.....and heart are.

From my scrap (part 1)

this had nothing to do with old scraps but this hello kitty brush is too cute to not photograph ;)

I am neither jet-legged nor tired. I am quite lacking in defining the somewhat lazy, but-don’t-want-to-sleep feel that I am feeling! So, here I am back to the country where I took the sunlight and the ‘great’ warmth for granted (I do wish if only the heat was steal-able I’d have stolen a little percent and given to Great Britain).
I am done resting and it’s been three days already, yet I am still not erasing the phrase above, simply because I started this the moment I landed and I wish to continue it the way it is ;)
My visitation was as normal as breathing although I was pleased to see my bagful of craps the way I left. Besides the textual load I found two files which stored my favourite pages from magazines. It was refreshing. I had it stored for ‘inspiration’. These are from recent years and doesn't attach a nostalgic story with it but it does remind me of those days when I wanted to make a 'magazine' out of it and name it 'Mode' , which would be a tribute to Ugly Betty, It was my favorite show and had just ended ;(

Clothes do take your breath away!

Over the years I have designed many many clothes…okay I have just drawn them and not really ‘made’ them but hey, I still aim to make them one day. I am keeping my article short because I have two pretty dresses that literally took my breath away!
I liked what Emma Stone and Gwyneth Paltrow wore to the met gala 2012. Once is as sweet, innocent and hot as the disco ball where as the other is barely there daring! I don't know when but these two join the list of 'clothes I'd love to re-create one day', I mean it! ;)

I feel patriotic today (towards Nepali cinema)

There was a time when NOT knowing Nepali cinema and the actors was considered ‘cool’. If you knew them, suddenly you are from the other side of the world, the world where you pronounce ‘office’ as ‘offish’ or ‘opish’ and where middle parting or as we call it ‘asiki’ was evergreen! Unfortunately I knew them, the cinema and the actors (but bear in mind the conventions don’t apply to me!) I knew who was in what film and which song is from which film. It was good when I was a kid (every Nepali’s answer). Then there was disequilibrium in the industry that stayed too long. Actresses adopted trashy as sexy and ‘heroes’ were able to walk on water! And because of this it was easy for all of us to bad mouth the industry. In the recent years it sure has developed a lot in terms of cinematography and the costume but the trailer just promises too much than the delivery. I am not trying to act censor in fact I feel very cinema-patriot today! Now moving on to my actual subject- fashion in Nepali cinema. Well, we don’t really look at the actors for fashion guide do we? I don’t blame you. I don’t know about off-screen but even on on-screen what they wear ain’t as pleasing. Sometimes it's so bad I'm the one feeling embarrassed! then why would I bother watching it? because like I said I am patriotic in terms of cinema too. So I dug in just in case I find a gold in the coal mine and I did! I went through some songs of the nineties and I am definitely feel more relaxed and happy now. why? Because I/we can actually find trends in Nepali cinema too! Unlike the rest of the world when puffy shouldered clothing was big in the eighties, I guess it made it's way only in the nineties. check out some of the well dressed ladies and I deeply apologise for the not-so-clear pictures.

Five things!

You know sometimes even days after watching a film; you are interestingly and amusingly haunted by the film. You think about what if that was real and what if I was one of the character (main one obviously!), well, that’s happening to me! It’s the Avengers! It’s got me wishing if I had a super power, albeit knowing it’s very fictional, but again you never know!
Anyways, let’s talk make up. We all love it and we all wish we were too good at it even at our first try! You know how when you were younger, you used to watch your Mommy get ready, watch how she applied the blush, the lipstick and everything, well that never happened to me. My mother was well, neither against nor approval of it. The only thing she had in the name of make-up was a maroon coloured lipstick that absolutely did not suit her! Growing up I didn’t take much interest in make-up either but things have changed for good. When I saw actresses in TV with long lashes and shiny clear skin I used to take it for real. ‘No wonder they are actress’ that’s what I thought. Little did I know they are touched with a make-up magical wand. So here’s five ‘things’ I adore

-      Lo’Real pink Lipstick. I love loud lips (but that don’t mean I like noises that come out from the pie hole)

-      BB cream. Gives you the perfect skin instantly.

-      Lo’Real mascara. This is the best! Brighten your eyes, because you are worth it!

-      Blush (any) Do it the Promise Tamang way. In order to make your cheek look more hollow, outline your cheekbones with brown shadow and apply the blush on top.

-      Last but not the least KOHL!(any brand)
